Week 9- Artificial Intelligence

With all of the technology these days it is important to keep up with what is going on now and what could be happening in the future or even near future. People always have new ideas every day that involve technology, so there is no saying where an ending point is, if at all.

AN article on entrepreneur.com posted at the beginning of the year, the posted their thoughts on the “10 Artificial Intelligence Trends to Watch in 2018”. The third one on their list was, “Mainstream auto manufactures will launch self-driving cars.” Tesla was the first car company to release a self-driving car, and with their efforts it has put pressure on more traditional car companies to make a self-driving car. Audi is “poised” to release a self-driving car of their own in 2018. They say the Audi A8 will have the technology capable of safely shuttling people without a driver’s input. Other companies like Cadillac and Volvo are developing self-driving technology and should become more evident to the public in 2018. With this new technology though comes some risk. Just this past week, an Uber self-driving car in Arizona hit and killed a woman on a street. Uber then immediately suspended the testing of a self-driving car in Tempe, Pittsburg, San Francisco, and Toronto. This coming from a New York Times Article.
