When looking at businesses that use artificial intelligence,
almost every sort of company you could think of is using some sort of
technology to help performance. Looking up an article on inc.com they list “5Artificial Intelligence Companies to Watch in 2018”, and one of them that I found
interesting was Bowery Framing. They are a vertical farming startup that grows
all of their crops indoors.
They have sensors at each facility to collect data
such as, humidity, temperature, and light. They have cameras on the plants and
because of the AI technology it can show and then adjust to the best conditions
for that particular plant to have a better taste, texture, and color. The
company claims that one of their farms is 100 times more efficient per square
foot that a normal traditional farm. Their products also do not require any pesticides
or chemicals to enhance their growing process, and are even some stores like
Whole Foods.
