The New Rules book has said that it believes the web and internet
has essentially changed marketing. Before the internet people were limited to
getting news out to the public to ads and releases in newspapers or flyers and
only be seen by select few. With the internet now today and with how easy it is
to access for almost anyone, all the ads and news articles can be seen by
millions of people all over the world instead of maybe just a town or city.
With the internet, today it doesn’t solely affect news
releases, but it does have effect on newsrooms too. A Newsroom is a central place where
journalists, editors, producers, etc. work together to get gather news to be
published in the newspaper or online. With the internet being so accessible to
the public, millions of people can go to a company’s webpage and see their
newsroom. For example, Apple can post new information on their latest and
greatest invention and give information to the public about it. It is an easy
way to connect to buyers by providing pictures, links, and other information to
attract them.
